Today's installment of our popular and occasional "Where in the world is....?" feature involves actress Alicia Silverstone, who has done a phenomenal job over the years of avoiding every single real estate gossip around (including the legendary Ruth Ryon) for the last 13 years, even as Alicia quietly has been the longtime owner of a 2,402-square-foot house in Los Angeles' Hollywood Hills, which she purchased in June 1996 for $597,000 through a trust.

Alicia Silverstone

Silverstone purchased her four-bedroom house not long after she made a splash playing Cher Horowitz in the film "Clueless." Built in 1951, Silverstone's house has two baths, according to public records, and sits on a rather small, 0.14-acre (6,207-square-foot) lot, according to public records.

While Silverstone has kept her name out of celebrity real estate blogs and columns, she hasn't actually held off on talking about her house. She talked at length about it to InStyle magazine's special InStyle Home edition in the spring of 2007, where she discussed her home as being eco-friendly, with solar panels. Outdoors, she told the magazine, she has a clothesline (yes, a clothesline), a trampoline (for working out) and an organic vegetable garden. Alicia married husband Christopher Jarecki in 2005.

Our information on when Alicia purchased her house (and now is the first time that her 1996 purchase price has ever been revealed publicly) lines up perfectly with the minimal information about that transaction that was provided to theinsider.com awhile back.
