The 4,294-square-foot, Tuscan-style house in the Beverly Hills, Calif. area that is owned by Red Hot Chili Peppers co-founder and frontman Anthony Kiedis has just gone into escrow after being listed for $6,997,000. At the same time, Kiedis also has just paid an undisclosed amount to purchase a two-bedroom house in the Spanish Trail golf course community in Las Vegas that had been listed for $535,000.
In a Big Time Listings exclusive, we can report that the house at 1410 Davies Drive in the Beverly Hills area, which Kiedis purchased in June 2004 through his Happy House Trust for $4,610,000, according to public records (and not the “around $4,800,000” amount that you may have seen elsewhere), had multiple offers. We can also be the first to report that if the recently agreed-upon sale closes escrow, the sale price would be for more than the listing price, as the listing agent told us on Monday.
The five-bedroom house that Kiedis, 44, is selling has six baths, six fireplaces, a Roman pool and spa, a bell tower, a grand cordon bleu kitchen, large-scale ceiling heights, and “one of the most romantic master suites in Southern Cal,” according to listing information. Check out the house’s listing sheet, complete with many photos, here and also here. The house sits on a 3.42-acre knoll in the Beverly Hills postal area, according to public records. It’s also in a neighborhood with a fair amount of star power as well; nearby, at 1309 Davies Drive, is the 9,202-square-foot house that singer Ricky Martin purchased in 2004 for $10.9 million and sold in May 2006 for $15 million (and not the $18 million that the Los Angeles Times had reported). That house sits on a 2.4-acre knoll and was owned, pre-rehabilitation, by actor Michael Caine from 1976 to 1987.
In Las Vegas, Big Time Listings can exclusively report that Kiedis in February purchased a decidedly more modest house, with two and a half baths. Built in 1990, the house, at 8255 Round Hills Circle, has 2,164 square feet, according to public records. Check out a listing sheet for the house—complete with an exterior photo. Like with Kiedis’ Beverly Hills-area house, we’ll provide a sale price once one becomes available.
Kiedis has owned numerous other properties in the Los Angeles area over the years. In 1997, he sold a 2,849-square-foot house at 3120 Hollyridge Drive in the Hollywood Hills to KCBS-TV anchorwoman Suzanne Rico for $560,000, according to public records (Rico sold that house in February 2006 for $1,425,000, according to public records.). In 2000, Kiedis paid an undisclosed amount to buy the 3,809-square-foot house at 3527 Wonder View Drive in the Hollywood Hills, which he sold in 2003 for $1,880,000, according to public records.
Today, Kiedis owns multiple other properties, both inside the L.A. area and outside. In the Los Angeles area, he owns a 3,944-square-foot house at 29222 Sea Lion Place in Malibu, which he purchased through his Happy House Trust in 2005 for $4,825,000, according to public records. He also owns a house at 7336 Alealea Road in Hanalei, Hawaii, which he also bought through his Happy House Trust in 2005 for $2,600,000, according to public records. And, he also owns two properties in his native Michigan: a 6-acre estate at 4400 Secluded Lake Drive in Rockford, Mich., and a house at 3927 Elhart Drive in Lowell, Mich., according to public records.
