Tennis stud Andy Roddick reportedly has paid $1,190,000 to purchase a pied-a-terre in Manhattan’s Gramercy area. The New York Observer today wrote about Roddick’s purchase of the condo unit in the former brewery at 205 E. 22nd Street in Manhattan. We can’t doubt the Observer’s report, but public records do not yet show that any deal in that building that matches their description has cleared. If true, Roddick would add the apartment to his existing real-estate portfolio, which includes a 5,558-square-foot house on Shimmering Cove on Lake Austin in Austin, Tex., and a house on Via Rosa in Boca Raton, Fla. that Roddick purchased in late 2001 for $310,000, according to public records. Features in the unit that Roddick reportedly purchased include extra-high ceilings, exposed wood beams, exposed brick, and a wood-burning fireplace, according to listing information. The condo had been listed for $1,195,000. Check out an online listing sheet for Roddick’s new unit – complete with photos – here.
