Rapper, producer and actor Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Cordozar Calvin Broadus, has sold his eight-bedroom, 6,527-square-foot Mediterranean-style house in Claremont, Calif., which is east of Los Angeles, for $1,830,000.  The Los Angeles Times’ Ruth Ryon broke the story of the sale on Sunday, even reporting correctly the exact sale amount of the home. However, as of this past Sunday, the public records databases that we have access to had not yet shown record of Snoop Dogg’s sale. Earlier this week, however, those databases were updated, and they did indeed reveal that the house, at 3986 Swarthmore Court in Claremont, had sold for the precise amount that she reported. Snoop Dogg’s former house’s claims to fame include that it was featured on MTV’s “Cribs” in 2000 and that it was remodeled in 2006. The house’s listing agent also produced a video for YouTube on the listing, which you can view.. We had written about Snoop Dogg’s listing back on April 13. The house originally had been listed for $1,995,000. Features in the house, which was built in 1989 and which is on just under an acre in the Blaisdell Ranch subdivision in Claremont, include five and a half baths, a formal entry with marble floors, a massive chandelier, a sweeping grand floating staircase, a recording studio room, marble fireplaces, soaring ceilings, crown moldings, recessed lighting, dual-pane windows, many built-ins, a home theater room, a chef’s kitchen with granite counters and top-of-the-line appliances, dual master suites—one on each level—with large walk-in closets, a swimming pool and spa, a pool house, and an outdoor tennis/basketball court, according to listing information. Dogg bought the house in 1994 for $660,000, but moved out of it in 2000. He continues to own a four-bedroom, 3,808-square-foot, single family house on 2.454 acres in Diamond Bar, Calif., which he purchased for $720,000, according to public records. A listing sheet for the house remains active here. And the Wall Street Journal’s “Private Properties” column also wrote about Dogg’s listing on April 13.
