Singer-songwriter Beck has placed his 5,718-square-foot house in Los Angeles' Hancock Park on the market for $9,000,000, just two years after purchasing it for $6,750,000.  As we continue to catch up on items reported elsewhere that we haven't yet covered, we again must give mad props to our worthy peers over at the Real Estalker, this time for their Independence Day scoop of Beck listing his six-bedroom house, which is at 400 S. Hudson Street in Hancock Park. Indeed, the Los Angeles multiple listing service shows that Beck's Hancock Park house came on the market -- with no exact address on the online listing sheet, natch -- on July 1. Features in Beck's house include nine baths, a large living room, a library, a formal dining room, a kitchen/family room measuring 53 feet by 26 feet, a master suite with his and hers baths and walk-in closets, en suite baths in all five family bedrooms, a guesthouse with a professional recording studio and a rehearsal room, a grassy back yard and a swimlane pool, according to listing information. The house sits on a 0.43-acre, corner lot, according to public records. Records show that Beck's 400 S. Hudson Trust purchased the house in April 2007 for $6,750,000. We wrote about Beck's purchase of this home back on November 11, 2007, noting at that time that Beck previously had owned a 6,568-square-foot house nearby at 511 S. Arden Boulevard in Hancock Park from 2002 until he quietly sold it in June 2005 for $4,200,000. The house is virtually catercorner from actor David Schwimmer's monster mansion (11,336 square feet!) at 345 S. Hudson Street in Hancock Park. Check out an online listing sheet for Beck's house -- complete with photos. Beck also owns a 1,596-square-foot house at 29201 Larkspur Lane in Malibu, Calif. that his Larkspur Trust very quietly purchased in January 2007 for $2,050,000, according to public records. But, that's clearly just a second home, and not Beck's principal residence. It's as-yet unclear where Beck is off to. When we find out, we'll of course report it here.
