Frequently hatted (see photo for proof; a knit cap or ballcap always adorns his head) recording artist Daniel Powter has placed his four-bedroom, 2,659-square-foot, contemporary-style house in Los Angeles' Brentwood area on the market for $2,295,000.

Kudos to the Los Angeles Times' Ann Brenoff for breaking the story on January 21 of Powter's listing of the house, which came on the market on January 16.

Built in 1951, Powter's house has four baths, architectural details, light-filled rooms, French doors, hardwood floors, a dual fireplace in the family room/living room, a gourmet kitchen with a breakfast area, a master suite with a fireplace and a bath, two additional bedrooms each with its own bath, and a mini-guest suite/office with a separate entrance, according to public records and listing information. Outdoor features on the house's 0.21-acre (9,200-square-foot) lot include an entertainment area with a waterfall and a viewing area, according to public records and listing information.

Powter clearly isn't planning on making any money off the house. Records show that he paid $2,300,000 for the house on April 29, 2006 (deal recorded May 12, 2006).

Where Powter may be off to is anyone's guess. We'll keep you posted as we monitor the situation.
