Today we're going to catch up on a few items that we've ignored over the last few weeks -- starting with retired NFL star Jerry Rice's 'California French-style' mansion in Atherton, Calif., which is on the market for $22,000,000.

The Los Angeles Times' Ruth Ryon wrote about Rice's listing of the 23-room mansion last Sunday, and the Real Estalker followed up with a fine report as well.

Located at 267 Atherton Avenue in Atherton, Rice's three-story mansion measures about 15,000 square feet, according to listing information (or 16,180 square feet, according to the Real Estalker, or 12,520 square feet, according to public records) and was completed five years ago, according to the Times (or in 2002, according to listing information, or in 2001, according to public records). Features include six bedroom suites, seven full baths, three half baths, a formal entryway, a first-level library, an upstairs office, a step-down living room, a family room with a full bar, a wine room, a crafts room, a full gym with a bathroom, a home theater, a game room and an underground seven-car garage, according to listing information and the Times. Outdoor features on the 1.41-acre property include a pool, a spa, a covered veranda with built-in heaters and speakers, a stone outdoor fireplace and a guest house with a kitchenette and a full bath, according to listing information and the Times.

Check out an online listing sheet for the house -- complete with lots of photos -- here.

Rice and his wife reportedly are downsizing to a smaller house, though still in the San Francisco area.

This one might take awhile to sell. We'll keep you posted on what happens with this property.
