Reality TV star Audrina Patridge has paid $1,150,000 for a newly built, three-bedroom Spanish villa-style house in the Hollywood Dell section of Los Angeles' Hollywood Hills.
This is yet another in the long line of overdue items that we're trying to catch up on as we dig out from the backlog of items so capably covered by others during our recent absence from the blogosphere owing to a hacking attack. Our friends over at the Real Estalker broke the story on September 24 of Patridge's purchase, after previously having run a tantalizing blind item on the transaction back in late August.

Indeed, records show that Patridge, 23, purchased the approximately 2,100-square-foot house on August 18, with the deal being recorded on September 15. Something weird went on at this house, we should note, given that records show that the fellows who sold it to Audrina had just recently purchased it from developer Titali Developments in late May (deal recorded in June) for the higher price of $1,290,000. Why did the sellers turn around and unload the newly built house a few months later to Audrina for the lower price of $1,150,000? We're not sure, but the suspicion here is that the sellers, two single men, either ran into credit problems or were flippers who had been contractually bound to pay a certain price from the developer but then were looking to unload the house as soon as possible even at a loss. Regardless, Audrina appears to have gotten herself something of a deal on the house.
The house had been listed at one time for $1,249,999 and later for $1,199,000, according to online listing information. Features in the house include two and a half baths and a gourmet chef's kitchen with a separate convection oven, six-burner gas stove, a built-in microwave, a wine refrigerator, a side-by-side refrigerator, and a center island, according to listing information. Outdoor features on the tiny 0.09-acre (3,999-square-foot) lot include a built-in barbecue, a refrigerator and water treatments, according to public records and listing information.
The Hollywood Dell neighborhood is an area that probably doesn't get as much attention as it should -- at least, not by us celebrity real estate gossips. Other residents in the area whom we've written about in the past include actors Michelle Forbes, who we exclusively reported in August was trying to sell her house there for $1,150,000, actress Eva Longoria Parker, who paid $3,600,000 in 2006 for her five-bedroom, 8,603-square-foot house just down the street from Forbes', and actor Josh Radnor, who as the Real Estalker noted, is Patridge's new next-door neighbor. Back in January, we broke the story of Radnor's $1,100,000 purchase of his 1,531-square-foot house.
