Oscar-nominated actress Marsha Mason has placed her 250-acre Double M Ranch property in New Mexico, which consists of a 5,800-square-foot house and 140 acres of farmland, on the market for $11.5 million. The Wall Street Journal broke the story of Mason's listing yesterday. Unfortunately, there's little information available online about the listing, including no online listing sheet. And public records aren't helpful either in discerning Mason's ownership of the property; she told the Journal that she had purchased the raw grazing land in 1992 for $1.5 million and then spent another $10 million "building the structures and developing the farm," which has an annual yield of 2.5 tons of herbs, the paper reported. Features on the property, which is at 245 County Road 155 in Abiquiu, N.M., include a 5,700-square-foot "art barn" with two studios and two apartments, a separate three-bedroom guesthouse, and a greenhouse, the Journal reported. Mason, 65, told the Journal she plans to move to Connecticut or New York because of ongoing theater projects in New York City.
