Continuing on with our effort to catch up on items that others have written on but that we have missed or neglected, we wanted to weigh in on the recent news that gold medal-winning Olympic medalist and model Amanda Beard has placed her small three-bedroom house in Los Angeles' Venice area on the market for $1,045,000. Our friends over at the Real Estalker broke the story on June 28 of Beard's listing of her 981-square-foot house, which is at 1145 Garfield Avenue in Venice. (Public records say the house measures 981 square feet, while listing information reports that it contains 1,021 square feet.)
Built in 1939, Beard's house has just one bath and sits on a 0.096-acre lot, according to public records. Other features in the house include an enclosed courtyard, a redone kitchen with combed grain walnut cabinetry, a spa bath and an open grassy garden in the backyard, according to listing information. Beard, 26, purchased the house in July 2006 for $1,045,000 -- the same amount she's currently asking for the house. Beard placed the house on the market on May 15, according to listing information. Check out an online listing sheet for Beard's house -- complete with photos. Finally, you can take a virtual tour of Beard's house. It's unclear where Beard is off to. When we find out, of course, we'll provide that information here.
