Heiress and socialite Nicky Hilton has become a first-time homebuyer, paying $2.8 million for a three-bedroom, 4,072-square-foot house in Los Angeles' Hollywood Hills, just above the Sunset Strip and just below the 'Bird Streets' area of the Hills.

First off, kudos to Your Mama at the Real Estalker for breaking the story on July 6 of the purchase by Hilton, 23. While the Real Estalker did not yet have a closing price for Hilton's house, in a mini-exclusive, we can report that the sale now has been recorded and uploaded to the various public-records databases that we have access to. As a result, we can add to Your Mama's always-enlightening trove of knowledge by reporting that public records show that Hilton, who like her sister Paris purchased the house in her own name, paid exactly $2,800,000 for the house at 1307 Sierra Alta Way in Los Angeles. The purchase closed on May 4 and was recorded on June 28, according to public records.

As the Real Estalker reported, Hilton's new house had been listed for $2,995,000. Built in 1942, the traditional-style house has a 'spacious living room,' a formal dining room, and a gourmet kitchen with an island, a pantry and no fewer than four ovens, according to listing information. Other features include a master suite with two large closets and two master suites, a family room/den, a gym and a sauna, according to listing information. All of the house's rooms lead to an outdoor area that has a pool, a waterfall, a fireplace and a large yard, according to listing information.

One final (minor) footnote: Hilton's new house is just a few streets over from the 5,913-square-foot house at 9444 Sierra Mar Place that Jerry Seinfeld owned during the run of his successful sitcom. It's also the house that Seinfeld once told '60 Minutes' was a 'waste of money.' Once his show ended, Seinfeld couldn't wait to get out of L.A., selling the house in mid-1998.

Also, Hilton's house is just down the street from actress Elisabeth Shue's former house at 1146 Sierra Alta Way, which she sold in 2004 for $1,251,000, according to public records.
