The sale price that singer Melissa Etheridge sold her 6,837-square-foot house in Hidden Hills, Calif. to actress Nicollette Sheridan finally has become available in public records, which show that the deal closed for $4,304,000. In a Big Time Listings exclusive, we can report on the exact amount of the transaction, which came after the house had been on the market for $4,995,000. We broke the story on May 6, 2008 of Etheridge's sale of the house, at 5209 Saddle Creek Road in Hidden Hills. At that time, we only knew that Etheridge's Alpine Trust had sold the house to two trusts (the Olivers Estate Trust and the Veronica Matsui Trust) on April 18, with the deal being recorded on April 25. We even noted the names of celebrities whom the money manager behind the trusts has represented in the past -- one of which, we noted at the time, was Sheridan. (Etheridge had sold the Hidden Hills house because she paid $5,100,000 last year for a 6,505-square-foot house elsewhere in Hidden Hills.)
On May 7, our friends over at the Real Estalker broke the news that the buyer behind those trusts indeed was "Desperate Housewives" actress Nicollette Sheridan. One of our commenters offered the astute observation that she so named the trust because her dog is named Oliver, which made perfect sense to us. While the Real Estalker also had reported that the house sold for $4,320,000, the final closing price as recorded in public records (or rather, the closing amount that a transfer tax was paid on) was $4,304,000. Sheridan appears to still own, through her Higgy Trust, her longtime, 2,731-square-foot house on a 1.469-acre lot at 2131 Roscomare Road in Los Angeles' Bel-Air area. She has owned that home at least since the 1990s. It is not currently on the market, although we wouldn't be surprised if she eventually listed it.
