Actor Matthew McConaughey has concluded the sales of all three of the houses that he has owned in his compound in Los Angeles’ Hollywood Hills, just north of the Sunset Strip.
His principal residence, a four-bedroom, 4,291-square-foot Spanish hacienda at 2605 Astral Drive, had been listed for $3,299,000. In a Big Time Listings exclusive, we can report that it recently sold to a TV executive producer for an undisclosed price. We will be sure to provide you with the exact amount once that sale clears public records. Check out a cached version of the house’s listing sheet here, complete with many terrific photos of the house, which was built in 1978. McConaughey once gave a tour of the house on an episode of “Oprah.”
McConaughey purchased the hacienda in 2002 for $2.075 million through his Casa Revocable Trust, according to public records. He also subsequently bought two adjoining houses—a two-bedroom, 1,303-square-foot house at 2575 Nichols Canyon Road that he purchased in 2004 for $1.3 million, and a three-bedroom, 2,303-square-foot house at 2587 Nichols Canyon Road that he purchased in 2003, also for $1.3 million.
Now, both those houses have been sold, as well. Records show that the following two transactions have taken place:
--In a Big Time Listings exclusive, we can report that McConaughey recently sold the larger of the two houses, at 2587 Nichols Canyon Road, to a couple for $1.49 million. McConaughey had listed that house for $1.6 million.
--We previously had reported in December 2006 that McConaughey had sold the smaller of the two houses, at 2575 Nichols Canyon Road, for an undisclosed price in October to a company called Tsunami Films, Inc. Now, the sale price for that house has cleared public records: $1.5 million.
We suspect you’re all wondering where McConaughey’s new digs are in Los Angeles—and we are, too. If anyone has any information, send it our way. Otherwise, when we come across records of him having purchased a new property, we’ll report it here. Outside of L.A., McConaughey continues to own a 1,600-acre ranch in West Texas and an Airstream that he stores just outside Austin, Tex. in a trailer park.
