Actress Jane Sibbett has sold her 16.96-acre ranch in Los Angeles' Topanga area for $3,950,000, and not for the $4,250,000 amount that has been reported elsewhere.

In a Big Time Listings exclusive, we can report on the actual amount that Sibbett, who once had a small acting role on TV's "Friends," and her producer-husband Karl Fink fetched for the sale of her ranch at 1291 Will Geer Road in Topanga, which she sold on August 18 (deal recorded on September 8th) to a non-celebrity. The sale price did not become available in public records, however, until just last week.

We had written about Sibbett's listing of the ranch for $7,000,000 back on March 1. And then, we had written on April 11 about Sibbett reducing her asking price to either $5,200,000 or $5,300,000, depending on the source. She later cut her asking price even further, to $4,199,000. Most recently, the Los Angeles Times' Ann Brenoff had broken the news on September 10 -- back when we were on hiatus owing to a hacker -- of Sibbett's sale of the ranch, but Brenoff erred in reporting that the ranch had sold for $4,250,000. Now, recently released public records show that Sibbett actually got just $3,950,000 for the ranch, or more than 43 percent less than her March asking price. Talk about a haircut!

Sibbett and Fink paid $750,000 in mid-1998 through their Bob Trust to buy the Topanga property, and then transferred it into their own names in October 2003. Features on the property include a 6,400-square-foot house that was rebuilt in 2005 (public records, however, call the house 8,247 square feet) and that has four and a half baths, according to listing information. The house also has a family room, a large gourmet kitchen, and a dining room, all with plank floors and ceilings, according to listing information. Other features include four fireplaces inside and out, a nursery/office, decks, lawns, a vegetable garden, a six-horse barn, a large, fun arena, a medicine wheel, and 360-degree views, according to listing information.

It's unclear where Sibbett and Fink are off to, although past reports have indicated that they were under contract to purchase a $2 million farm in Hawaii, contingent on the sale of the Topanga ranch. Public records don't immediately show that they have purchased another property in Hawaii, although it's also possible that the public records databases that we have access to just don't yet show the sale. When we find out more on anything they purchased, we'll of course print it here.
