In the latest edition of a divorcing (or divorced) celebrity selling a Los Angeles-area house, comic actor Johnny Knoxville has placed his three-bedroom, Mediterranean-style villa in L.A.’s Hollywood Hills on the market for $1,695,000. In a Big Time Listings exclusive, we can report on the listing of the home at 2481 Hollyridge Drive in the Hills by the “Jackass” actor, whose real name is Philip Clapp. The house came on the market on July 17. Knoxville and wife Melanie have been in the process of getting a divorce, which likely prompted this listing (much as is likely the case with actor Kiefer Sutherland, whose listing of his longtime home in L.A.’s Silver Lake area we exclusively wrote about over the weekend). Built in 1924, Knoxville’s 2,946-square-foot house has three baths, a great room with a vaulted ceiling and arches, a large circular dining room, a redone kitchen with honed marble counters and stainless steel appliances, and a large master suite with a fireplace and an “Ann Sacks”-style bath with a steam shower, according to public records and listing information. Other features include a media room, and a second bedroom/office with an en suite bath, according to listing information. Outdoor features on the gated, 0.21-acre, street-to-street property include a courtyard setting, a grassy yard with gardens, and a large pool, according to public records and listing information. In August 2001, Knoxville (shown here with Jessica Simpson) purchased the house through his Peaceful Pond Trust for $943,500, according to public records. Check out an online listing sheet for Knoxville’s house – complete with photos. Records show that Knoxville’s Peaceful Pond Trust also owns a 3,744-square-foot house at 6248 Primrose Avenue in Los Angeles’ Hollywood Hills, which it purchased in early 2005 for $2,060,000. It’s unclear who lives in the Primrose Avenue house, and it’s also uncertain whether Knoxville and his soon-to-be-ex-wife will also list that house as well. We’ll keep you posted as we learn more.
