Husband-and-wife actor-writers Renee Taylor and Joseph Bologna have placed their longtime, four-bedroom, 4,600-square-foot Beverly Hills, Calif. house -- which once was the home of Shirley Temple Black -- on the market for $5,000,000.

This is yet another item we're catching up on from our hiatus. The Los Angeles Times' Ann Brenoff broke the story of the listing back on September 25. The Tudor-style house came on the market on September 22.

The house, which the couple has owned since 1975, according to public records, has been gutted to the studs, and as a result can be a teardown or a rebuild/remodel. It's a little unclear to us just why the house has been gutted to the studs, since the Los Angeles Times' Ruth Ryon reported back in March 1999 that the couple was putting the finishing touches on a $1 million renovation that had taken two years. We weren't able to reach the house's listing agent today to get an answer, but we're certainly open to anything that our readers might know. Another question is, where are Taylor and Bologna living now, if this house indeed has been gutted to the studs?

Built in 1926, the house has five and a half baths, according to public records and listing information. Outdoor features on the 0.35-acre (15,181-square-foot) lot include a 50-foot swimmer's pool, a clay bocce ball court, a large outside barbecue/pizza oven area and a guesthouse, according to public records and listing information.
