Hockey star Eric Lindros has listed his six-room loft penthouse in the One Morton Square building in New York City’s West Village for $6 million.

The Wall Street Journal broke the story this morning (no link yet online, but this Canadian blog has an uncredited version of the story, at least for now) of Lindros’ listing of the 2,185-square-foot condominium unit at 1 Morton Square, which Lindros purchased in September 2004 for $2,541,365, according to public records. Lindros bought the three-bedroom unit, which is in a building where actress twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen also own four apartments, while it was being built. He largely has rented the unit out while owning it, the Journal reported.

Features in the unit include three and a half baths, a great room with a wall of windows, Hudson River views, a planted terrace, 11-foot ceilings, an open kitchen with a granite-topped island, large walk-in closets, and Doussie strip hardwood floors throughout, according to listing information.

The Journal reported that Lindros, 34, still owns Canadian property in Ontario and Quebec, but that he last year sold a three-bedroom town house in Dallas, where he played this past hockey season. Lindros currently is a free agent.
