The seven-bedroom, 4,847-square-foot mansion in Bel-Air, Calif. that the late actress Jane Wyatt ("Father Knows Best," "Lost Horizon") owned until her death in October at age 96 is on the market for $5,995,000.

First off, kudos to Your Mama over at the Real Estalker for delivering the scoop to post this fine item the other day--her work ethic and ability to track down scoops never ceases to amaze. We actually had intended to follow up on her fine work even before the Wall Street Journal decided to follow Your Mama's lead by writing about it in today's "Private Properties" column.

The house that the estate of Wyatt, who bought the house 45 years ago, is selling is at 651 Siena Way in Bel-Air. Designed by architect Paul Williams--whose original blueprints are included in the sale--the house was built in 1937 and sits on a 29,176-square-foot promontory, according to public records. Other features include eight baths, three fireplaces, a media room with a bar, a four-car garage with a motor court and a guest house with a private deck and gardens, according to listing information.
