Director, special-effects artist and makeup artist Stan Winston has listed his recently remodeled, 3,014-square-foot beach house in Malibu, Calif. for $11,950,000.

A tipster had given us this item last week (thanks R!), but we stupidly didn't get around to it and sat on it, allowing us to get scooped today by the Wall Street Journal's "Private Properties" column (link not available online).

Located at 21622 Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, the three-bedroom house in Malibu that the four-time Oscar-winning Winston, 61, is selling was built in 1957. Features in the house include three and a half baths, a great room, teak and stainless steel finishes everywhere, a beachside master suite with two walk-in closets and a fireplace, two en suite bedrooms, and a den/media room with a dropdown screen and a projector, according to listing information. The house is located on La Costa Beach, with 35 feet of frontage, the Journal reported.

Winston had purchased the property in 2005 for $6.2 million and rebuilt the house. As the Journal correctly noted, Winston's house is near the house at 21606 Pacific Coast Highway that actor David Spade has listed for $16,000,000. In fact, Winston's house is exactly two doors west of the house that Spade is selling. (Recall that we broke the story on August 10 of Spade's listing.)
