In Luxist's October 12 Sunday Real Estate Round-up that Robbie Williams has signed a contract to buy a 13,638-square-foot mansion in Beverly Hills, Calif.'s Beverly Park neighborhood that had been on the market for $23,000,000.
That may be true, although public records don't yet bear it out (likely because even if such a deal has closed, the document hasn't yet been recorded with Los Angeles County). However, assuming that the Sun is accurate (and this is a shaky assumption -- it *is* a London tabloid, after all!), that means that Williams bought himself into one of the most elite neighborhoods in the world.
First off, some details on the house, and then some more on the neighborhood. Built in 1988, the seven-bedroom mansion has been on the market for quite awhile at multiple price points, including for $23,995,000, $23,000,000 and even, earlier, $19,000,000. The house long has been owned by -- and indeed, appears to have been built by -- former Bond girl Luciana Paluzzi Solomon and her husband, Michael Solomon.
Features in the mansion include Spanish tile, wrought iron railings, custom moldings, high ceilings, arched windows, a grand two-story entry, a living room with a sunken bar, a library/office, a formal dining room with a butler's pantry and temperature-controlled wine storage, a family room with an attached bath and a sauna with a window, a kitchen with an island, a master suite with his and hers baths and large walk-in closets, and three more bedroom suites, according to listing information. Outdoor features on the gated property include a large covered patio with a built-in BBQ and a wood-burning pizza oven, separate staff quarters with a living room, a bedroom, a bath and a kitchenette, and a two-story guesthouse with a living room, a full kitchen, a family room, a powder room, a private terrace with views, a master bedroom with a patio, and two additional bedrooms, according to listing information. Other outdoor features include a tennis court, fountains, terraces, a pool and a spa, according to listing information.
How big is this "Italian estate," acreage-wise? Well, it depends on which source one consults. All public records for the property say that it measures 4.353 acres, while listing information says that the lot is 1.97 acres.
We'll of course keep you posted on if Robbie's deed is recorded or not. Stay tuned.
Beverly Park, meanwhile, is like no other subdivision on the planet, celebrity-wise. As a result, despite Williams' incredible success as a pop star (55 million album sales), he'd be nowhere near the most famous person in the gated development. Current residents of Beverly Park, as we previously have written, include Faith Hill and Tim McGraw, Magic Johnson, Samuel L. Jackson, Eddie Murphy, Jami Gertz, Rod Stewart, Martin Lawrence, Sylvester Stallone, Sumner Redstone, Paul Reiser, Denzel Washington and Barry Bonds. Former homeowners in Beverly Park include Alex Van Halen, Wayne Gretzky, Kelsey Grammer and Vanna White.
