Actor Danny Masterson and his singer/actress girlfriend Bijou Phillips have paid $2,995,000 to purchase the 4,323-square-foot, Mediterranean-style mansion in Los Angeles’ Los Feliz neighborhood that once was owned by rock ‘n’ roll pioneer Chuck Berry.

In a Big Time Listings exclusive, we can report on the transaction involving the five-bedroom mansion at 2151 Hollyridge Drive in Los Angeles, which we previously had written about on March 21. And we also recently had written about Masterson listing his four-bedroom, Spanish-style house in the Beachwood Canyon area of Los Angeles’ Hollywood Hills for $1,594,900.

Let’s talk first about Masterson’s new digs, which we happen to think are sensational. Built in 1923, the mansion sits on a promontory and has a master suite with a sitting room, a terrace, his and hers walk-in closets, according to listing information. Other features include high ceilings, wood floors, original details, a living room with a fireplace, a formal dining room, and a gourmet kitchen, according to listing information. Outside are a pool, a spa, meditation gardens, a paddle tennis court, a guesthouse, and a three-car garage. Check out a listing sheet for the house—complete with lots of photos—here.

Berry, 80, sold the house in 2000 after owning it for several decades. The house was listed for $2,795,000 in 2004 and eventually was sold the following year for $2,475,000 to the individual who just sold it to Masterson and Phillips. Records show that Masterson and Phillips closed on their purchase on May 9, although the sale wasn’t recorded until May 30.

As for Masterson’s four-bedroom, Spanish-style house in the Beachwood Canyon area of Los Angeles’ Hollywood Hills that he recently listed, we wrote about that listing on May 7, following up on the Real Estalker’s post several days earlier. That house, at 6227 Holly Mont Drive, remains on the market. Check out online listing sheets for that house here and here.
