Country singer-songwriter Lucinda Williams has paid $1,512,500 to buy a 2,585-square-foot house in Los Angeles’ Studio City area. In a Big Time Listings exclusive, we can report on the purchase of the house in Studio City, which Williams, 55, bought with her longtime fiancé and manager Tom Overby. Records show that the deal closed on January 11 and that it was recorded on February 22. Built in 1955, the house, on Laurelcrest Drive, has four bedrooms and three and a half baths, according to public records and listing information. Features include a cook’s kitchen, a living room with a built-in media center, a sound-proof studio (which doubles as a fourth bedroom), hardwood floors, a temperature-controlled wine cellar, designer upgrades, and a grand master suite with fireplace, a large closet and dressing area, according to listing information. Listing information bills the house as having been a “former celebrity home,” but our cursory look of public records doesn’t reveal a bold-faced name among prior owners. We’re probably missing something obvious, though (or perhaps, a renter?). Maybe our friend E.J. at the Movieland Directory can help? Or readers, any thoughts?
