Comedian Norm Macdonald has paid a reported $1,800,000 to purchase a condominium unit in Santa Monica, Calif. We have to give serious kudos to the Los Angeles Times' Ann Brenoff, who just broke the story of Macdonald's purchase -- through his STC Trust -- of the second-floor unit in Santa Monica. We actually had stumbled across this sale last week but had had no idea who the buyer was behind the STC Trust. In fact, given that Corey Barash, the money manager whose name appears on the deed, represents many celebrities, we had intended to put this property out to our readers this coming week as part of our ever-popular 'Which celebrity's house is this?' feature in order to identify the buyer. Now, however, thanks to Brenoff, we all know that MacDonald was the buyer.  Records show that Macdonald's STC Trust purchased the unit for an undisclosed price on May 22, with the deal closing on June 13. The unit had been on the market for $1,895,000. Built in 2006, the condo unit that Macdonald purchased has either 1,630 square feet, according to public records, or over 2,000 square feet, according to listing information. Other features in the two-bedroom unit include two baths, a gourmet kitchen, white concrete floors, two large terraces, walls of glass and 14-foot ceilings, according to listing information. Check out an online listing sheet for Macdonald's new unit -- complete with photos -- here. This isn't the only Los Angeles-area property that Macdonald has owned over the years. In October 2000, his STC Trust purchased a 2,128-square-foot house at 209 S. Stanley Drive in Beverly Hills for an undisclosed price. He transferred ownership of that house to his ex-wife, Connie Vaillancourt, in late 2002, according to public records. And, his Trust paid an undisclosed amount in October 2002 to purchase a third-floor, 1,680-square-foot condo unit in Beverly Hills, according to public records. Macdonald continues to own that condo to this day.
