Back on May 1, we wrote about CNN correspondent Miles O’Brien having listed his duplex apartment on Manhattan’s Upper West Side for $3,495,000. Now, in a Big Time Listings exclusive, we can report that O’Brien, who in April was demoted from co-anchoring the network’s “American Morning” program, recently sold the 1,975-square-foot unit at 222 Riverside Drive in New York, which he purchased in 2005 for $3,200,000 from actor Chris Meloni. Public records show that O’Brien, 48, and his wife went to contract on May 7 and closed on the sale on July 25. The transaction was recorded on Aug. 6. Features in the unit include views in three directions, a water-irrigated terrace, a dining room with oversize windows, a “zen-like” master suite with an ultra-spacious bath, two other bedrooms and a windowed eat-in kitchen with granite countertops, a SubZero refrigerator, and a Bosch dishwasher, according to listing information. The buyers are a married couple who are not celebrities. There’s no word yet on where the O’Briens are headed. Back in May, his wife had told the Wall Street Journal that she and her husband were looking at buying a fixer-upper, but no public records yet reveal a new purchase by them. We’ll keep you posted as we learn more information.
