Britney Spears has *again* placed her 7,453-square-foot house in the Beverly Hills, Calif. postal area on the market for $7,900,000.

 

We're finally starting to catch up on the items that we missed during our blog's involuntary hiatus. And this listing is one of the biggest ones that we wanted to weigh in on. The Los Angeles Times' Ann Brenoff wrote on September 23 about Spears' listing of the six-bedroom, Italian renaissance-inspired house, which is at 12094 Summit Circle in the guard-gated Summit neighborhood high above Beverly Hills, while our friends over at the Real Estalker also wrote about the listing on September 23.

 

Built in 2001, Spears' home has six baths, a gated motor court, a wet bar, maid's quarters, a library, a smoking room/den (perfect for Britney, as the photo above suggests), a formal dining room, a grand entrance foyer, dramatic high ceilings and carved millwork, according to listing information. Other features include stone and mosaic tile floors, iron accents, and a master suite with his and hers baths, a fireplace and a 'romantic loggia,' according to listing information. The house also has a chef's kitchen with Viking appliances, a walk-in pantry and a nook opening to a spacious family room, according to listing information. Outside on the 0.37-acre property are a pool, a spa, and lush landscaping.

Records show that Britney's Love Shack Trust purchased the house on December 14, 2006 for $6,750,000. She listed it for $7,495,000 in early 2007 (yes, just weeks after buying it) and later reduced it to $7,200,000 before eventually pulling it off the market for more than a year.

The rumors long have swirled that Britney would like to sell the house and move to the Calabasas, Calif. area, to be closer to their children. Chatter online has been that Brit's been looking at building something from scratch in The Oaks area of Calabasas.
