Rocker Beck has placed his 1,596-square-foot house in Malibu, Calif. on the market for $2,399,000. That house now joins his main house, in Los Angeles' Hancock Park neighborhood, in L.A.'s multiple listing service; the 5,718-square-foot Hancock Park house is for sale for $7,900,000.

Credit the Los Angeles Times' Ann Brenoff with breaking the story online late Thursday of Beck's listing of his house in Malibu, which records show that he purchased in January 2007 for $2,050,000. Beck's ownership of the house had been little-known at best; we had mentioned this house in a post back in July, and that was the first time to our knowledge that Beck's ownership of the house ever had been made public by any celebrity real estate gossip.

Built in 1961, Beck's Malibu property's main, 1,596-square-foot ranch-style house has three bedrooms and two baths, along with pitched ceilings, hardwood floors, and recently remodeled kitchens and baths, according to public records and listing information. The property also has a two-bedroom guest house with one bath and a "massive fireplace," according to listing information. Outdoor features on the 0.63-acre (27,443-square-foot) lot include lush gardens and mature trees, according to public records and listing information.

We've written a lot about Beck over the last year. Back in July, we wrote about Beck listing his 5,718-square-foot house in Los Angeles' Hancock Park neighborhood for $9,000,000. That house remains on the market, although Beck eventually reduced its asking price to $7,900,000. And previously, we wrote in November 2007 about Beck having purchased that house in Hancock Park for $6,750,000.
