Amazon.com founder Jeff Bezos reportedly has paid nearly $30 million for a seven-bedroom, 11,891-square-foot Spanish-style house on a 2.03-acre property in the flats of Beverly Hills, according to Ruth Ryon's "Hot Property" column in the Los Angeles Times this morning.

The sale hasn't cleared public records yet, so we don't know if Bezos, 43, bought the house in his own name or through a trust. And, we can't yet confirm the sale price yet, either, although the property had been listed for $28 million at one time and more recently at $31 million. When we get Bezos' actual sale price, as always, we'll report it here.

Bezos' reported new house is at 930 N. Alpine Drive, which means that the rear part of the property touches the rear part of actor Tom Cruise's longtime Beverly Hills rental home, a 6,685-square-foot house on 2.71 acres at 918 N. Alpine Drive. Bezos reportedly purchased the estate from money manager Rick Guerin and his wife, Fabienne.

Features on the estate include seven bathrooms, soaring beam ceilings, extraordinary tile detail, an eat-in kitchen with a fireplace, a media room, four bedroom suites, a veranda, city views, and maid's quarters, according to listing information. Outside are rolling lawns, formal gardens, five outdoor fountains, a greenhouse, a long, gated drive, a sunken and lighted tennis court, a pool, a separate guesthouse and a six-car garage, according to listing information.
