New York Mets All-Star third baseman David Wright has signed a contract to buy a 4,109-square-foot penthouse at Infinity Flats, a new condominium development in the Flatiron area of Manhattan’s eastern Upper East Side, according to the New York Observer.

Wright, 23, is buying a full-floor unit that (Observer) originally had been listed for $6.5 million. Features in the unit include a living room that’s 43 feet by 20 feet, a floating staircase, a glass atrium, a 710-square-foot private roof, white-oak planking with walnut inlays, and a media room with a wet bar.

Wright just completed his third season in the big-leagues, and he made just $374,000 last year, according to ESPN.com. However, in August he signed a six-year deal worth $55 million, so he has plenty of cash for the down payment for the unit, which is in the building at 24 E. 21st St.

The paper also reported that a source with knowledge of the building knows that New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has taken a look at units in the building.
