Aerosmith drummer Joey Kramer has his 6,266-square-foot, shingle-style house and its surrounding 17 acres in Marshfield Hills, Mass. on the market for $4,990,000. The Wall Street Journal's 'Private Properties' column on Friday broke the story on Kramer's listing of the estate, which is at 922 Summer Street in Marshfield Hills, about 20 miles south of Boston on what is known as the South Shore. \ Built in 2003, Kramer's four-bedroom house in Marshfield Hills has four baths and three fireplaces and is part of a gated estate that overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and that also has a pool, a guest house, a recording studio, a sauna, a koi pond and three standalone garages, according to listing information. (Kramer is a noted car buff.) The property also has about 300 feet of water frontage on the North River, which flows into the Atlantic Ocean. Public records are a little fuzzy, but it appears that Kramer paid $1,050,000 in 1993 for one of the lots, which measures 6.07 acres. It's a little unclear when he purchased the other lot. As the Journal noted, Kramer's bandmate Brad Whitford sold a 13.78-acre property on the same street, at 824 Summer Street, in 2006 for exactly $3,000,000, according to public records. Whitford currently owns a 1,846-square-foot house at 20 Ocean Avenue in nearby Scituate, Mass., which he purchased in 2002 for $699,000, according to public records. Bandmate Joe Perry has owned a house in Duxbury, Mass., but also owns a farm in Vermont. Steven Tyler has lived in Marshfield as well.
