Actress (and new mom) Nicole Kidman has purchased record producer and songwriter Ron Fair’s 3,977-square-foot house in Beverly Hills, Calif. for an undisclosed price after it had been listed for $4,795,000. In a Big Time Listings exclusive, we can report on Kidman finally laying down some stakes in the Los Angeles area after a six-year ownership absence. Recall that back on April 10, we called out the Los Angeles Times’ Ruth Ryon for erroneously reporting in her penultimate column of her 23-year career that Kidman had purchased a house in Los Angeles’ Brentwood area, only to have to print a retraction a few days later when it became clear that Kidman had done no such thing. Now, we can report definitively that Kidman finally is a homebuyer, having just purchased Fair’s former house on Lime Orchard Road in the “Beverly Hills P.O.,” which is to say, in the Beverly Hills postal district. Kidman’s in good celebrity company in the neighborhood, given that she’s just a few doors up from retired model and fashion designer Kimora Lee Simmons’ 5,923-square-foot house at 9551 Lime Orchard Road, which currently is on the market for $7,750,000. And, Kidman also is just a few houses up from singer Jessica Simpson’s 5,500-square-foot mansion at 9555 Lime Orchard Road, which Jessica’s Lime Orchard Trust purchased in late 2005 for $5,275,000, according to public records (Simpson and Simmons are next-door neighbors). Records show that Fair’s whimsically named trust, In Ellington We Trust, sold the house on Lime Orchard on June 12 to Kidman. The deal was recorded on June 18. Built in 1965, the five-bedroom house has four full baths, one quarter bath, and a full-floor upstairs master suite with dual walk-in closets, a designer-chic bathroom and a spacious sitting room/office area, according to public records and listing information. Other features include French doors, sliding walls of glass, a grassy side yard and play areas, tree and ridgetop views, and an undeveloped parcel of land across the street, according to listing information. In total, the house sits on a 1.253-acre flag-shaped parcel, according to public records. When the purchase price clears public records in the next few weeks, we’ll of course report it here. Our friends over at the Real Estalker had written about Fair’s house when it was on the market, back on May 1. Check out online listing sheets for Kidman’s new house – complete with photos – here and here. We have written often about Kidman’s various properties. Recall that on January 3, we broke the story that Kidman and her country singer husband Keith Urban had sold their four-bedroom house at 15 Bancroft Place in Nashville for $2,360,000 and had paid $2,450,000 to purchase 36 acres at 2032 and 2040 Old Hillsboro Road in nearby Franklin, Tenn. Kidman also paid $3,470,000 earlier this year for a seven-bedroom, 11,511-square-foot house at 27 Northumberland in Nashvillefor $2,360,000 and had paid $2,450,000 to purchase 36 acres at 2032 and 2040 Old Hillsboro Road in nearby Franklin, Tenn. Kidman also paid $3,470,000 earlier this year for a seven-bedroom, 11,511-square-foot house at 27 Northumberland in Nashville, which we wrote about back on March 24, when we had thought that the buyer might have been Jessica Simpson. Our understanding is that Kidman plans to hang her hat in the Northumberland house until her estate on Old Hillsboro Road is completed. We also had noted in that item that the previous residence in the Los Angeles area that Kidman had owned was a 7,597-square-foot house on nearly an acre at 1525 Sorrento Drive in Los Angeles’ Pacific Palisades area that she sold in December 2002 for $10,250,000, according to public records. That property had been her and former husband Tom Cruise’s marital abode until they split up in 2000. Kidman and Urban also reportedly have a home in Sydney, Australia.
