Actress Melissa Joan Hart has sold her five-bederoom, 4,911-square-foot, Spanish-style house in Los Angeles' Sherman Oaks area for $2,475,000.

The Los Angeles Times' Lauren Beale wrote about this deal back on July 28, noting that the deal was for "close to $2.5 million." At that time, we had not seen proof of the sale in public records (as we usually like to), so we weren't in a position to write about the transaction. Now, public records have cleared, giving us the opportunity to weigh in on this sale and also provide Hart's precise selling price. Records show that Hart's Wonderview Trust sold the house on June 17, with the deal being recorded on July 28. The buyers are not celebrities.

We exclusively had written in June about Hart having re-listed her house for $2,700,000. She previously had placed the house on the market last October for $3,250,000, as we had reported at that time.

Features in the one-story, custom-built house include five baths, extensive crown moldings, recessed lighting, woodwork throughout, a foyer, a screening room, a maid’s room (which is one of the five bedrooms), and a master suite with built-in shelving units, a fireplace, a walk-in closet and a master bath that has a dual-sink vanity and a separate tub and shower, according to listing information. Outdoor features on the house’s 0.49-acre (21,497-square-foot) lot include a deck, according to public records and listing information.

Hart took a substantial loss on this house, having paid $2,800,000 to buy the house new in 2005.

It's still not clear where Hart is off to. Her listing agent told the Times that she wanted a "change of scenery." Given that she has had two children since buying the house in 2005, she probably has purchased a more family-friendly abode. We will keep you posted.
