Actress Maura Tierney has placed her 3,051-square-foot Craftsman-style house in Los Angeles' Hancock Park neighborhood on the market for $2,195,000. She is selling the house because she paid $3,062,500 last summer to buy a house in Los Angeles' Venice area.

The Los Angeles Times' Ann Brenoff broke the story online on Monday of Tierney's listing of her longtime Hancock Park house, which came on the market on February 20.

Built in 1913, Tierney's four-bedroom house in Hancock Park has been restored and has a dining room with vintage built-ins, according to public records and listing information. Other features include a gourmet kitchen with stainless steel finishes and custom cabinetry, a master suite with a balcony, and a large open living room with fireplace and French doors that open to the outdoors, according to listing information. Outdoor features on the 0.21-acre (9,000-square-foot) lot include a two-story guest house, a pool, a spa, a wood deck, a bricked patio area with an outdoor fireplace and a yard with lush landscaping, according to public records and listing information.

You can actually check out this house in person on Tuesday, February 24; Tierney's agent is holding an open house from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Although Brenoff didn't mention this, records show that Tierney paid $3,062,500 last summer to purchase a 1,818-square-foot house on a canal in Venice, about five blocks from the Pacific Ocean. That house was built in 1916, according to public records.
