Actress Angela Bassett and her actor husband Courtney Vance have listed their five-bedroom house in Los Angeles' Hancock Park area for $5,999,000.
We're a bit late on this one, given that Bassett put the house on the market on July 13, and given that our friends over at the Real Estalker produced a fine blog post on the item on July 15. However, we thought we'd weigh in as well.

Bassett's property, at 69 Fremont Place in Hancock Park, really is more like a compound than just a mere house. The 4,828-square-foot main house includes six baths, a gourmet kitchen that opens to a family room, a formal living room, a dining room, and an elegant foyer, according to public records and listing information. Also on the 0.625-acre property is a separate, two-room, 2,500-square-foot office/guest house with a bath, full gym and home hair salon, according to listing information. The property sits on a guard-gated street.

Public records show that Bassett, who married Vance in 1997, purchased the house in 1994 from Vietnam hero, gay activist and arts patron Duke Comegys for an undisclosed price, according to public records. It's unclear where the couple is moving, although when we find out, we'll report it here.
