Actor Treat Williams has sold his penthouse on Manhattan's Upper West Side for $5,700,000, according to public records.

In a Big Time Listings exclusive, we can report on the sale, which was recorded with the city at 11:40AM today (Tuesday), even though it closed on June 12. City records show that Williams, whose listing we wrote about on February 15, sold his longtime, four-bedroom cooperative apartment at 215 W. 78th Street in New York to Yale University law professor James Q. Whitman, who is 50 and who lives in New Haven, Conn. Williams had listed the unit for $4,750,000. As the New York Post and we had reported back in February, Williams and his family are moving to Park City, Utah, and they also are reportedly looking for a house in Los Angeles. Sure enough, Williams' New York City sale deed lists an address for Williams on Sunny Slopes Drive in Park City. Features in the approximately 2,700-square-foot unit, which is known as PH10-A and PH10-B and which was designed by Kevin Walz, include an entry from a private penthouse landing, 360-degree views, another 2,700 square feet of terrace space, three baths, a new customized HVAC and heating system, a living room with a wood-burning fireplace, according to listing information. Other features include a chef's eat-in kitchen with a double-wide farm sink, slate and marble counters, a custom-built table, a Viking range and dishwasher, a Thermador double oven, a SubZero refrigerator and a wet bar, all opening to mullion paned glass doors on the unit's north terrace, according to listing information. Public records still don't show that Williams has closed on a purchase in California or Utah, but we will of course keep you apprised on those sales if and when they become available. Stay tuned.
