Actor Mark Wahlberg has placed his five-bedroom house in Beverly Hills, Calif. on the market for $15,900,000.
The Los Angeles Times' Ann Brenoff broke the story on Monday of Wahlberg's listing of the house, which is on the same street above Beverly Hills where Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher and Ashlee Simpson live. The house came on the market last Friday, although listing information does not give out an exact address for the home (as it usually does).
We well remember when Wahlberg (or rather, his Marley Realty Trust) *bought* the 8,932-square-foot house in late 2001 for $4,950,000, according to public records (a more precise figure than the 'about $5 million' figure that the Los Angeles Times' Ruth Ryon reported at the time of the transaction). We briefly mentioned this house in a blog post that ran in January 2007.
Built in 1985, the house has 10.5 baths, a basketball court, a 2,500-square-foot gym with a boxing rink and a trainer's quarter, a screening room/theater with high ceilings and 35-millimeter digital projection technology, and two living rooms, according to public records and listing information. Outdoor features on the 1.41-acre property include a two-story private guest house, lush gardens and a lavish waterfall pool with a grotto, according to listing information.
It's a little unclear exactly where Wahlberg (shown here with his fashion model squeeze and baby mama Rhea Durham) would move were he to get his asking price for his estate (and we doubt that he will). We'll of course keep you posted.
