Actor Jason Statham has paid $10,625,000 to purchase a 3,355-square-foot oceanfront house in the Malibu Colony in Malibu, Calif.

We have a backlog of items to get to, and we'll start with the news about Statham. This is a story that our friends over at the Real Estalker broke the new of about a month and a half ago.

Built in 1965, Statham's new house had been listed for $10,950,000. Features in the three-bedroom main house include four baths, high ceilings, walls of glass, extensive use of beautiful old growth Douglas fir throughout, a living room with an oversized fireplace, a dining area, an oceanfront sitting area, a family room, a gourmet kitchen, a large family room, and a courtyard with a spa tub, according to listing information. Outdoor features on the 0.20-acre (8,708-square-foot) lot include a separate two-bedroom guest apartment with a bath and a two-car garage, according to public records and listing information.

Statham's new beachfront property is flanked by a house on one side that is owned by legendary surfer Ralph Kiewit, and by a 6,913-square-foot house on the other side that something called the JTract (or J Tract) Trust purchased in late 2006 from investor Michael Klein for $22,750,000, according to public records. (We would note that the purchase price was *not* the "close to $28 million" figure that the Los Angeles Times' perpetually inaccurate Ruth Ryon had printed at the time of the sale in late '06.) As a total aside, can any of our readers tell us who is behind the JTract Trust?

Records show that Statham closed on the purchase of his new home on May 19, with the deal being recorded on June 17. As the Real Estalker noted, he purchased it from documentary filmmaker Matt Palmieri.

Statham has built quite a real estate empire. As we exclusively reported last year, Statham purchased a two-bedroom, eighth-floor unit in the Broadway Hollywood building in Los Angeles' Hollywood area for an amount that we later learned was $1,543,500. And, as the Real Estalker noted last month, that 2,140-square-foot unit had been on the market for $1,395,000. It's now been reduced to $1,195,000 -- yes, fully $350,000 less than he paid for it! -- and is called "celebrity owned!" in its marketing materials.

In addition, Statham since mid-2005 has owned a 2,281-square-foot house on Rising Glen Road in Los Angeles' Hollywood Hills, which he had purchased for $2,400,000, according to public records.
