Printers Row and Deaborn Park are both a part of what is considered the South Loop. Printers row is the area surrounding Dearborn Street just north of Dearborn Station and is named after the buildings on Dearborn Street in which books, magazines, postcards were printed. Just south of Printers Row is a narrow strip of residential development between Clark and State.

Dearborn Park began its residential development
in the late 70s with the building of two
high-rise residential buildings on the north
end of the area and mid-rise condos, apartments
and townhomes further south. The development
includes many parks and has a surprisingly
calm feel to it. Printers Row began its
redevelopment in the 90s and is now mostly
rehabbed lofts and condos. The area is an
easy walk to Grant park on Michigan Avenue,
museums, the lake and LaSalle Street financial
centers. Printers Row features famous blues
clubs, eclectic music venues and neighborhood
taverns and is know for its annual book
fair. The area is blocks away from the Eisenhower
expressway, Lake Shore Drive and the CTAs
Red, Orange and Green Lines. Search
