New York Yankees catcher Jorge Posada and his wife, Laura, have paid $3,600,000 to buy an 11th-floor condo unit on Manhattan’s Upper East Side that adjoins their existing four-bedroom condo. The New York Post’s fine celebrity real estate columnist Braden Keil on Saturday broke the story of the Posadas’ newest purchase in the Seville building, at 300 E. 77th Street. Posada paid $3,156,575 in 2003 for his first unit in the 31-story building, according to public records. Now, he is expanding that four-bedroom, 3,293-square-foot unit by adding to it the three-bedroom, 2,290-square-foot unit next door, according to public records and the Post. Records show that Posada paid $3,600,000 for his new unit on August 14, with the deal being recorded on August 24. “We built this place from scratch – it’s exactly what we wanted,” Posada told the Post’s Jennifer Gould Keil earlier this year, referring to his original unit that he purchased in 2003. The Seville was built in 2001 and contains around 90 units ranging in size from one to three bedrooms.
