Which celebrity's house is this? House #58: the 3,020-square-foot house at 1961 Mandeville Canyon Road in Los Angeles' Brentwood area, which sold at the end of 2008 for $2.25M
Today, we will endeavor to begin resuming a somewhat regular posting schedule. We know that our posting has been spotty of late, largely as we’ve been involved in a fair amount of travel (including to Seattle for a few days) and also in other writing projects.
We want to dip our toes back in the water today by writing about this 3,020-square-foot house at 1961 Mandeville Canyon Road in Los Angeles’ Brentwood area, which sold in December for $2,250,000.
The reason we believe that a celebrity was the buyer was because public records identify the buyer as being something called the C26 Trust. And, the money manager behind the C26 is none other than Mr. Barry Greenfield — who regular readers of this blog know often represents anonymity-seeking celebrities in their Los Angeles-area home purchases. Among the celebs that Greenfield has represented over the years are Hilary Swank, Jason Priestley, Ivan Sergei, and others.
Built in 1940, the five-bedroom (well, four bedrooms plus a maid’s/guest suite), country craftsman-style house at 1961 Mandeville Canyon has three and a half baths, a skylit living room with a custom fireplace and beamed ceilings, a formal dining room, a den, a laundry room, a bonus room off the garage, and an updated kitchen with cork floors, a Sub-Zero refrigerator, a Viking range and a pantry, according to public records and listing information. Outdoor features on the 0.65-acre (28,314-square-foot), flag-shaped lot, which gives its owner some much-needed distance from busy Mandeville Canyon Road, include lots of trees, a grassy yard and two patios, according to public records and listing information.
The house had been on the market for $2,695,000. Check out an online listing sheet for the house — complete with photos.
So dear readers, we ask you as we always do: which celebrity purchased the house at 1961 Mandeville Canyon Road? Who is the elusive celebrity behind the C26 Trust?
