Which celebrity's house is this? House #57: the 2,089-square-foot Cape Cod-style house at 1368 Benedict Canyon Drive in the Beverly Hills, CA postal area, which was bought in December for $1.825M by what has to be a celebrity
Today’s installment of “Which celebrity’s house is this?” involves the 2,089-square-foot Cape Cod-style house at 1368 Benedict Canyon Drive in Los Angeles, which sold in December for $1,825,000.
The reason we are certain that a celebrity was the buyer of this two-story house is because the trust that purchased the home in early December has one of the most whimsical names we have ever seen: it’s called the Ima & Ura Lebowski Trust — a clear reference to the cult favorite film, “The Big Lebowski.” And, the money manager whose name is on the deed as representing the Ima & Ura Lebowski Trust, Howard Altman, has represented scads of celebrities in their home purchases over the years (through conveniently anonymous and whimsically named trusts, of course), including Jennifer Garner, Jessica Alba, Dan Castellaneta, Simon Baker and Naomi Watts.
Built in 1953, the three-bedroom house at 1368 Benedict Canyon has four baths and a brand-new kitchen, according to public records and listing information. Outdoor features on the 0.28-acre (12,223-square-foot) lot include a double gated driveway, off-street parking for 10 cars, a large flat lot, and a brand-new pool and spa, according to public records and listing information. The house had been listed for $1,995,000, and later for $1,895,000. The seller, a designer, is not a celebrity.
So, dear readers, we ask you as we always do to help us solve this puzzle: which celebrity bought the house at 1368 Benedict Canyon Drive as a Christmas present to himself (or herself)? Tell us: Which bold-faced name is behind the Ima & Ura Lebowski Trust?
The dude abides.
