Which celebrity's house is this? House #56: the newly built, five-bedroom house at 14608 Martha Street in Los Angeles' Sherman Oaks area, which sold in December for $970K
Today, after a three-month (!) hiatus, we resurrect our popular but long-dormant “Which celebrity’s house is this?” feature, in which we write about a house that was recently purchased (or sold) by a trust, and the money manager whose name appears on the sale deed is one who frequently represents celebrities. We typically put the question out to our readership, to see if they have any thoughts on which bold-faced name(s) might have been behind the transaction.
Our subject today is this newly built, five-bedroom house in Los Angeles’ Sherman Oaks area, which closed in December for $970,000. Public records show the buyer to have been something called the Martha Street Trust, and the money manager whose name appears on the deed, Scott Adair, has represented many celebrities over the years, particularly those in the music business. California incorporation records show that Adair’s client roster has contained names like Rob Zombie, Raymond Herrera, Michelle Branch, Greg Graffin of the band Bad Religion, Justin Warfield of the band She Wants Revenge, DJ (and sometime-Lindsay Lohan pal) Samantha Ronson, DJ Cut Chemist, John Reis, Richard Butler of the Psychedelic Furs, Jim Sellers of the band Stabbing Westward, Tears for Fears’ Curt Smith, comedian Earthquake (Nathaniel Stroman), Wayne Static of the band Static-X, producer Josh Abraham, and the Pussycat Dolls’ Nicole Scherzinger. And on real estate deeds in particular, Adair has represented Branch and Scherzinger.
Measuring either 4,215 square feet (according to listing information) or 4,445 square feet (according to public records), the Italian Tuscan villa-style house on Martha Street has six baths, a dramatic entry with travertine and distressed hardwood floors, a master suite with a large balcony overlooking the backyard, and a state-of-the-art kitchen with custom granite countertops, a center island, custom cabinets and stainless steel appliances, according to public records and listing information. Outdoor features on the 0.16-acre (6,888-square-foot or 6,969-square-foot, depending on the source) property include a grassy backyard, a saltwater pool, waterfalls, a fire pit, a barbecue area, a cabana and outdoor speakers, according to public records and listing information.
The house had been listed for $1,190,000.
So, dear readers, we ask you as we always do: which celebrity purchased the house at 14608 Martha Street in Sherman Oaks?
