The New York Observer’s Max Abelson broke the story yesterday of the purchase of the prewar combined-unit co-op by Ward.

Features in the three-bedroom, 1,600-square-foot co-op unit, which is on the fourth floor of a six-story elevator building at 232 East 6th Street, include three baths, a living room, original hardwood floors that have been recently re-sanded, a dining room, a renovated kitchen with a Bosch dishwasher, and a marble bath, according to listing information. The unit, which originally was three units, had been listed for $1,425,000, according to listing information. Obviously, a bidding war broke out, and it took place after an open house, the Observer reported.
