Snoop Dogg lists house in Claremont, CA for $1.995M

Rapper, producer and actor Snoop Dogg, otherwise known as Calvin Broadus, is selling his eight-bedroom, 6,527-square-foot house in Claremont, Calif., which is east of Los Angeles, for $1,995,000.

Built in 1989, Dogg’s Mediterranean-style house at 3986 Swarthmore Court in Claremont’s Blaisdell Ranch subdivision is on just under an acre. Dogg purchased the house in 1994 for $660,000, according to public records. Since that time, he has featured the house on an episode of MTV’s “Cribs” (2000), and fully remodeled the house (2006). Now, the house is on the market.

Features in the house, which is at the end of a cul-de-sac and atop a gentle slope, including five and a half baths and a formal entry with marble floors, a massive chandelier and a sweeping grand floating staircase, according to listing information. Other features include a recording studio room, marble fireplaces, soaring ceilings, crown moldings, recessed lighting, dual-pane windows, many built-ins, a home theater room, and a chef’s kitchen with granite counters and top-of-the-line appliances, according to listing information. In addition, the house has dual master suites—one on each level—with large walk-in closets, a four-car garage, a swimming pool and spa, a pool house and an outdoor tennis/basketball court, according to listing information. Broadus moved out of the Claremont house in 2000. He continues to own a four-bedroom, 3,808-square-foot, single-family house on 2.454 acres at 2345 Alamo Heights Drive in Diamond Bar, Calif., which he purchased in 1998 for $720,000, according to public records.

Dogg’s listing was written about in Friday’s Wall Street Journal, and it also was the subject of an April 12 press release that was put out by a Los Angeles public relations firm.
