Singer-songwriter Regina Spektor has paid $1,125,000 for a condo unit in Manhattan’s Murray Hill area. The New York Observer’s Max Abelson broke the news of the 28-year-old anti-folk singer’s purchase yesterday in the paper’s “Manhattan Transfers” column. Indeed, public records show that the Moscow-born Spektor went to contract on April 2 to buy the two-bedroom unit, which is on the 19th and top floor of the building at 155 E. 34th Street in Manhattan. The deal closed on May 19, and was recorded with the city on Monday. Spektor’s new unit’s size is up for debate (although slightly). Abelson reported that the unit measures 1,140 square feet, while public records state that it contains 1,122 square feet. The building was constructed in 1962, and went condo in 1986.
