Singer Lisa Loeb pays $1.125M for a four-bedroom house in Los Angeles' Valley Village area
Singer Lisa Loeb has quietly paid $1,125,000 to purchase a four-bedroom, custom-built, Cape Cod-style house in Los Angeles’ Valley Village area.
In a Big Time Listings exclusive, we can report on Loeb’s purchase of the 3,229-square-foot house. Records show that the deal closed in June. Shortly after the purchase, Loeb transferred the property into a trust that she has used to purchase other real estate.
This isn’t the first foray into L.A.-area housing for the extremely likable, 41-year-old Loeb, who just got married in January 2009. In 2003, Loeb purchased a 2,386-square-foot house at 11579 Chiquita Street in Los Angeles’ Studio City area that had been built in 1937, according to public records. Loeb also wound up transferring that house into her trust, and she later sold the Chiquita Street house in 2007 for $1,795,000, according to public records.
Built in 1991 (although public records give it a 1951 construction date), Loeb’s new house has four en-suite bedrooms; four baths; three fireplaces; two balconies; a master suite with a balcony, lots of closets, a deck, a bath with two sinks, a large marble shower, and a spa tub; a large upstairs deck with a sweeping stone staircase to the backyard; a large kitchen with a butler’s pantry and a breakfast area; a formal dining room with crown moldings and a chair rail; a family room with a fireplace; and a formal living room with hardwood floors, a beamed ceiling, a window seat and a fireplace, according to public records and listing information. Outdoor features on the 0.19-acre (8,246-square-foot) lot include a private lush backyard and a swimmer’s pool and spa, according to public records and listing information.
Loeb’s new house had been listed for $1,199,000.
Valley Village is an area in the San Fernando Valley that we seldom write about; it’s north of Studio City, west and south of North Hollywood, and east of Sherman Oaks.

The Citrus house is for her parent and her brother Todd and Jennifer live in the Gardner house. She is being a good daughter and sharing the wealth with the family.

What’s wrong with having a big house if you can afford it? Just because you live by yourself or with one other person instead of six doesn’t mean you should be in a smaller place; that doesn’t make any sense. People, by nature, need space.

Actually it wasn’t just two people. Nikki had three kids from a previous marriage who visited often and she had her son who lived with her, plus their had a child together. So they needed more than enough room.
