Singer Diana Ross places her mansion in Greenwich, CT back on the market for $39.5M

Singer Diana Ross has placed her 12,562-square-foot waterfront mansion in Greenwich, Conn. back on the market for its previous $39,500,000 listing price.

Built in 1930, Ross’ French Normandy-style mansion, at 65 Meadow Wood Drive in Greenwich, has been much covered over the years by the celebrity real estate press. Back in 2004, Ross made headlines for protesting Greenwich’s appraisal of the value of the mansion, which is in Greenwich’s exclusive Belle Haven area. Then, in December 2006, our friends over at the Real Estalker wrote about Ross’ then-listing of the 11-bedroom mansion.

Ross eventually took her stonewall-enclosed mansion over the market. Now, the New York Post’s Braden Keil last week (hey—as we noted earlier today, we’re still catching up on items that others have written about!) reported that Ross has re-listed the estate, which is known as Quarry Farm. Features in the mansion include 10 baths, a spiral staircase going from the basement to the third floor, a bowling alley, a family room, a wine cellar, 18th-century oak paneling (designed by the firm of Parsons and Wait) in the living room, a master bedroom with a double-sided fireplace and ogee arches opening into each room, according to listing information and Keil. Other features on the 9.02-acre estate include a free-form swimming pool, a spa and tennis court, a five-car garage, a guest cottage, and another garage with an apartment above, according to listing information. The mansion was designed by architect Frank Forster and is situated on Long Island Sound.

Ross purchased the mansion in 1980 from actor Frank Gorshin. She currently owns it through her 65 Meadow Wood Drive LLC company. Property records show that she owns the property in two pieces – a 4.97-acre parcel and a 4.05-acre tract.

Geoff @ 12:37 pm

Beautful house that Miss Ross has in Conn..
Does anyone have her Bev Hills, CA address?
I was told it is somewhere on Lexington in Bev Hills.

I love this blog.
Anyone in LA wanna exchange celeb addresses?
It is fun trivia.

tlp333 @ 12:43 pm

Does Ross still own any LA area properties?

Bob Goldsborough @ 1:52 pm

Greetings tlp333–

Ross sold her ~2,900-square-foot Malibu estate (on the PCH on Carbon Beach) in 1998. It’s turned over at least once since that time. That’s all that we’re aware of that she owns in LA.

GEOFF @ 3:46 pm

I was wondering the same.
Was told she has a house on Lexington Ave.
in Bev Hills. Can anyone supply her address?
I love this blog. Anyone want to trade
celeb addresses? garebla@yahoo.com

I’m still mad about them tearing down her former home at 701 N. Maple - a contemporary stucco. I LOVED that house. They’ve replaced it with a mediterranian that I disliked at first but since they put up a gate is turned into a really lovely place.

Ms. Ross’ Greewich masion is as elegant as the woman residing there. Rarely have I seen a home reflect its owner as much this one has. She has been a fixture in this neighborhood for years and although rarely seen, her presence will be missed. Although as we age, no matter our economic status, downsizing is a natural progression she should feel comfortable with. Good luck lovely lady…from an anonymous neighbor.
