One of our favorite websites, TMZ.com, uploaded an exclusive post late today that celebrity Paris Hilton's Spanish-style house in Los Angeles' Hollywood Hills did not appraise for its sale price, which reportedly was just under $4,200,000 (the house had been listed for $4,250,000).
That shouldn't keep the deal from happening, TMZ.com wrote, particularly since the mortgage is so small--just $1 million, TMZ.com reported. (Deals often fall through when properties are appraised at below a sale price because mortgage companies walk away.) TMZ.com reported that the buyers of Paris' home are a married couple from Texas, and that they'll 'get the keys next week' to the 2,707-square-foot house, at 1467 N. Kings Road in the Hollywood Hills.
TMZ.com reported that the highest appraisal that the buyer got was $3,600,000, which sounds about right to us, given that Paris paid in the $2,900,000 to $3,000,000 range for the house back in November 2004. The house's listing agent told TMZ.com that the nearly $4,200,000 purchase price does include furniture and chandeliers that are worth between $600,000 and $700,000, including one chandelier alone that's worth $40,000.
We have written plenty about Paris' Hollywood Hills home, including about her listing it, back on July 27, and about reports last week that the house had been sold. As always, we'll keep you up to date on the 'when' and the 'how much' involving Paris' sale of her house.
In the meantime, we remain puzzled that the 7,493-square-foot Mediterranean-style mansion that has been reported to be Paris' new home, at 3340 Clerendon Road in the Beverly Hills post office's Mulholland Estates subdivision (which technically is in Los Angeles' Sherman Oaks area) *still* remains shown as being available (but 'looking for backup') on the Los Angeles County multiple listing service. We'll also keep you posted on if and when Paris' Whitney Richards Trust buys this or any other house.
