Rock legend Brian Wilson has listed his mansion in Beverly Hills
Rock legend Brian Wilson and his wife, Melinda, have listed their six-bedroom, Mediterranean-style mansion in the Mulholland Estates neighborhood of Beverly Hills, Calif. for $8,495,000.
Wilson, who purchased the house in 1999 for $3,500,000, is just the latest celebrity in the gated neighborhood to put his house on the market. There has been a minor exodus of celebs from the celeb-heavy precinct, including actress Loni Anderson, Avril Lavigne and Paul Anka, in addition to Wilson. And as we exclusively reported in January, Tom Arnold recently sold his house in the neighborhood for $7.4 million amid his divorce. If Wilson, Anderson, Lavigne and Anka all are successful in unloading their homes, the only remaining celebrities in Mulholland Estates will be TV Judge Greg Mathis, who quietly purchased his house in the development in 2005 and Tom Jones who bought his house at 13976 Aubrey Road in 1998. Features in Wilson’s 9,353-square-foot house, which was built in 1998, include seven and a half baths, a formal dining room, a media room, an office, a maid’s room and a four-car garage, according to listing information. The house’s master suite has a private balcony, a fireplace, a wet bar, a walk-in closet, and a master bath with a dual sink, spa tub and steam shower. In the kitchen are two islands, top-of-the-line appliances, a butler’s pantry and a wet bar, according to listing information.

This isn’t the only house that Wilson has ever owned in Mulholland Estates. In late 1999, he sold his 6,060-square-foot house at 14042 Aubrey Road in Beverly Hills for $2.6 million, according to public records. He had bought that house in 1995 for $1,815,000, according to public records.
Separately, Wilson sold a house he owned at 192 Garden Drive in Lake Arrowhead, Calif. for $2.2 million in July 2005, and in the spring of 2005, he paid $3.7 million for a place at 28055 Peninsula Drive South in Lake Arrowhead, according to public records. He also sold a house he owned at 5N129 Dover Hill Road in St. Charles, Ill.–about 35 miles west of Chicago–in 2001 for $1.5 million, which was just $100,000 more than he had paid for it in 1997.

The Citrus house is for her parent and her brother Todd and Jennifer live in the Gardner house. She is being a good daughter and sharing the wealth with the family.

What’s wrong with having a big house if you can afford it? Just because you live by yourself or with one other person instead of six doesn’t mean you should be in a smaller place; that doesn’t make any sense. People, by nature, need space.

Actually it wasn’t just two people. Nikki had three kids from a previous marriage who visited often and she had her son who lived with her, plus their had a child together. So they needed more than enough room.
