Retired basketball star and current broadcaster Mark Jackson and his singer wife, Desiree Jackson, list their mansion in Calabasas, CA for $4.995M; mansion has tremendous sports pedigree, with two prior sports-star owners
Retired NBA star Mark Jackson and his singer wife, Desiree Jackson, have placed their mansion in Calabasas, Calif. — which two other former sports stars also have owned — on the market for $4,995,000, less than 18 months after they bought it for $4,700,000.
In a Big Time Listings exclusive, we can report on the Jacksons’ listing of the five-bedroom mansion, which just came on the market on Friday, November 21.
Built in 1997 and located in Calabasas’ guard-gated Mountain View Estates area, the mansion measures either 8,435 square feet (according to public records) or 10,000 square feet (according to listing information), and has a professional theater, a gym, a steam room, a poker room and a bonus room, according to public records and listing information. Other features include an oversized master suite with a large balcony, coffered ceilings and an attached office, according to listing information. Outdoor features on the 0.82-acre (35,680-square-foot) property, which is at the end of a cul-de-sac include an infinity pool, a spa, and water features, according to public records and listing information.
Records show that the Jacksons purchased this mansion on June 22, 2007 for $4,700,000, with the deal being recorded on August 3, 2007. The (non-celebrity) couple who sold it to the Jacksons had purchased it from retired NBA star Mitch Richmond in July 2004 for $3,400,000, according to public records. Richmond, who now owns a different, 10,475-square-foot mansion elsewhere in Calabasas, had bought the mansion that Jackson is trying to sell from then-Tampa Bay Buccaneer (and current ESPN broadcaster) Keyshawn Johnson in August 2001 for $2,650,000, according to public records. (Recall that we’ve written before about Johnson, who in 2004 sold a mansion in Beverly Hills to shipping heir Paris Latsis for $10,500,000.)
No house photos are yet available for the Calabasas mansion that the Jacksons have on the market.
It’s unclear where the Jacksons are moving. They have owned other southern California properties in the past, including a 9,402-square-foot house on a flag-shaped lot at 4752 Azucena Road in Woodland Hills that they purchased in 2004 for $3,350,000 and sold in early 2007 for $3,575,000, according to public records.
