Public records have cleared on the purchase price that rocker Ozzy Osbourne paid in July for a 2,038-square-foot house in the Bird Streets area of Los Angeles' Hollywood Hills that he purchased, reportedly for his daughter Aimee, and they reveal that Ozzy paid $2,350,000 for the house, or more than $350,000 above the house's asking price.
In a Big Time Listings exclusive, we can report on the amount that Ozzy paid to buy the house from actress Kate Capshaw's Glass Property Trust and her Elevado Villa LLC company, which had owned the house since buying it in 2003 for $1,459,000.
Back on August 13, we wrote about Ozzy's purchase of the modern-style house, which was built in 1961 and sits on a 0.24-acre parcel. The Los Angeles Times' Ruth Ryon previously had broken the story of the purchase, although she was erroneous both in reporting that the house was bought by Aimee (it actually was purchased by her parents, Ozzy and Sharon), and in reporting that the house had closed for 'close to' its $1,995,000 asking price (unless you believe that $2,350,000 is 'close to' $1,995,000).
Features in the house include three baths, walls of glass, an outdoor gym, a long driveway, a pool, a BBQ area, eco-friendly finishes, custom walnut doors and built-ins throughout, a cook's kitchen with Miele and SubZero appliances and a master suite with a spa-like bathroom with a steam shower room and an 'egg' bath, according to listing information and the Times.
